another month, more than 12,000 Americans have been turned away at our
shared border and almost half of them were coming to Canada to sightsee,
shop or have some fun, despite the ongoing pandemic.
No biggie. We're better off anyway spending our
hard-earned dollars on our side of the border ..
Agreed.
I see Trump is offering tax incentives for American
businesses to move from China - especially the
pharmas. It has become crystal clear that we just
CANNOT be dependent on foreign states - especially
hostile ones - for certain classes of necessities. We
cannot even trust Canada with these things.
I do not blame Canada for restricting travel from
the USA though ... our Covid rate may be declining
but it is still high enough to be a legit worry to the
Canadians. I do not know how well the Canuks
follow the masks/distance/sanitizing thing, but I
do know Americans are for CRAP when it comes
to doing them. Better everybody just hang out in
their own countries for awhile more. Canadian
moose will still be there next year.
Alas now we see France and Spain and likely soon
Germany fully imposing serious lockdowns. Their
good little socialists were no better at preventing a
second wave than anybody else. The Brits are
looking good at this snapshot in time - actually more
deaths from regular flu than from Covid - but as
their tourists flee the EU and 'migrants' continue
to float in this situation may not last very long.
Maybe Trump will start distributing the vaccines a
week or two before the election ? :-)
